TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has announced its Weekly Awards in Basketball.


November 25, 2024, Coaches' Polls

FCSAA Weekly Awards (for all events November 18-24)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received recognition for their outstanding performance in athletic competition:

  • FCSAA DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Josh Hayes, Northwest Florida State
  • FCSAA DII Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Alex McCray, Florida State College at Jacksonville
  • FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Ivy Brown, Florida SouthWestern

Fall Sports Updates

  • Volleyball
    • DI: As expected, No. 1 Florida SouthWestern and No. 2 Miami Dade found their way to Saturday's national championship match in Clarksville, Tenn. The Bucs came away with the 3-0 win and a third straight National Championship
    • DII: Gulf Coast State advanced to the semifinals at the NJCAA DII Volleyball Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before falling to Johnson County (Kan.) CC. The Commodores were eliminated from the Consolation Bracket in their next match. Pensacola State, meanwhile, dropped its opening match then picked up a win in the Consolation Bracket before being eliminated. 
  • Men's Soccer
    • DI: Eastern Florida State advanced to the semifinals at the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Championship before falling to Cowley (Kan.) College, 2-0. 
  • Women's Soccer
    • DI: Daytona State won its first National Championship, defeating Arizona Western, 2-1 in overtime, on Saturday. 
    • DII: Pensacola State dropped both matches in pool play at the NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Championship. 
  • Men's Basketball
    • DI rankings: (8) Eastern Florida State, (15) Tallahassee State, (17) Chipola, (20) Northwest Florida State, (RV) Gulf Coast State, (RV) Florida SouthWestern
    • DII rankings: (8) Florida State College at Jacksonville 
  • Women's Basketball
    • DI rankings: (2) Northwest Florida State, (9) Gulf Coast State, (16) Chipola, (19) Eastern Florida State
    • DII rankings: (8) Palm Beach State
  • Swimming & Diving: Indian River State swept the men's and women's titles at the River Invitational. The men finished first out of five teams while the women beat out five other teams in scoring.
