TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has announced its Weekly Awards in Basketball.


November 18, 2024, Coaches' Polls

FCSAA Weekly Awards (for all events November 11-17)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received recognition for their outstanding performance in athletic competition:

  • FCSAA DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Karmello Branch, Santa Fe
  • FCSAA DII Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Aiden Fletcher, Florida State College at Jacksonville
  • FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Samantha Serrano, Florida SouthWestern

Fall Sports Updates

  • Men's Cross Country: Daytona State was the FCSAA's top finisher in the NJCAA Half Marathon, finishing 12th in the team scoring. Eastern Florida State finished 16th followed by Pasco-Hernando State (18th), Lake-Sumter State (25th) and Florida Gateway (26th). The Falcons' Joel Jean was the top individual finisher in 32nd with a time of 1:12:18.8.
  • Women's Cross Country: Pasco-Hernando State led five FCSAA schools in team scoring, finishing ninth. Eastern Florida State was 11th followed by Central Florida (14th), Daytona State (15th) and Florida Gateway (18th). The Bobcats' Nathalia Mallo was the top individual finisher in 29th with a time of 1:32:46.6.
  • Volleyball
    • DI: Florida SouthWestern and Miami Dade are seeded Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in the NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship, which begins November 20 in Clarksville, Tenn.
    • DII: FCSAA DII Champion Pensacola State grabbed the No. 9 seed while Gulf Coast State received an at-large bid and is seeded sixth at the NJCAA DII Volleyball Championship, which begins November 20 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
  • Men's Soccer
    • DI: Pool play began on Sunday in Wichita, Kan., at the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Championship. First-time tourney participant Miami Dade, the No. 9 seed, lost its opener to (4) Cowley County, 3-1, then lost to (5) Arizona Western, 2-1 in double overtime, on Monday. Sixth seed Eastern Florida State was victorious in its first match, beating (10) Murray State, 2-1. The Titans play (3) Salt Lake on Tuesday where the winner claims Pool C and a berth in the National Semifinals.
  • Women's Soccer
    • DI: No. 7 seed Daytona State, playing in its first NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Championship, is into the National Semifinals following wins over (2) Seminole State (Okla.), 2-0, and (11) Cowley County, 5-2.
    • DII: No. 10 seed Pensacola State, playing in its first NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Championship, lost its tourney opener to (6) Pima, 4-3, on Monday. The Pirates need a win vs. (3) Heartland on Tuesday and will need to win the goal differential to move out of pool play. 
  • Men's Basketball
    • DI rankings: (8) Eastern Florida State, (16) Chipola, (18) Tallahassee State, (19) Northwest Florida State, (RV) Gulf Coast State, (RV) Florida SouthWestern, (RV) Daytona State
    • DII rankings: (9) Florida State College at Jacksonville 
  • Women's Basketball
    • DI rankings: (2) Northwest Florida State, (5) Gulf Coast State, (17) Chipola, (20) Eastern Florida State
    • DII rankings: (8) Palm Beach State
