TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Weekly Awards.


April 15, 2024, Coaches' Polls

Region 8 Weekly Awards (for games April 8-14)

  • DI Baseball Player of the Week: Damion Kenealy, Polk State
  • DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Carter Krawchuk, Seminole State
  • DI Softball Player of the Week: Ashlyn Shirah, Northwest Florida State
  • DI Softball Pitcher of the Week: Emily Allegood, Florida SouthWestern
  • DII Baseball Player of the Week: Andrew Merchant, Lake-Sumter State
  • DII Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Michael Savarese, Pasco-Hernando State
  • DII Softball Player of the Week: Kendall Catherwood, St. Johns River State
  • DII Softball Pitcher of the Week: Caylee Elder, St. Johns River State

Spring Sports Updates

  • Baseball
    • Division I: Florida SouthWestern climbed to No. 12 in the NJCAA DI Poll, one spot behind No. 11 Northwest Florida State College. Chipola College remained No. 20 and Indian River State College continued to receive votes.
    • Division II: In the NJCAA DII Poll, St. Johns River State College is No. 14 and Pasco-Hernando State College received votes. 
  • Softball
    • Division I: In the NJCAA DI Poll, Northwest Florida State is still No. 2 but Indian River State and Florida SouthWestern swapped places again. The Bucs are now No. 3 while the Pioneers are No. 4. The College of Central Florida and Gulf Coast State College stayed at Nos. 8 and 12, respectively, while Santa Fe College slipped to No. 17.
    • Division II: St. Johns River State moved up one spot to No. 12 in the NJCAA DII Poll. The Vikings also clinched the FCSAA Division II Softball Championship with its series sweep of Lake-Sumter State College over the weekend.
  • Women's Flag Football: Florida Gateway College ran its winning streak to ten straight with wins over Life University (47-7) and Milligan (45-0). 
  • Women's Tennis: The 2024 FCSAA Women's Tennis Championship will take place April 18-19 at Hillsborough Community College. 
  • Women's Golf: Daytona State College will host the Division I Southeast District Golf Championship, April 22-23 at Conservatory at Hammock Beach in Palm Coast, Fla.
  • Men's Golf: Eastern Florida State College will head to Union Grove, Ala., for the Division I Southeast District Golf Championship, April 21-23.
