NJCAA announces 2022-23 committee assignments

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 19, 2022) - The National Junior College Athletic Association has announced its roster of committees for the 2022-23 academic year, which commences August 1.

Committee assignments from Region 8 are filled by:

  • Mike Matulia, Director of Athletics, Lake-Sumter State College, NJCAA Region 8 Men's Director
  • George Sanders, Director of Athletics, Florida SouthWestern State College, NJCAA Region 8 Women's Director
  • Rick Hitt, Director of Athletics, South Florida State College, NJCAA Region 8 Assistant Men's Director
  • Alison Mohr, Associate Director of Athletics, Daytona State College, NJCAA Region 8 Assistant Women's Director
  • Sarah Lytle, Director of Athletics, Hillsborough Community College, At-Large
  • Steve Winterling, Director of Athletics, Pasco-Hernando State College, At-Large
  • Rob Chaney, FCSAA Associate Director/Athletics Commissioner, NJCAA Region 8 Board of Regent

Region 8's assignments includes two sport committee chairs: Steve Winterling, who will chair Division II Softball; and Alison Mohr, who will chair Women's Flag Football. 

Sport committee assignments are as follows:

  • Division I Baseball: Rick Hitt 
  • Division I Men's Basketball: Rob Chaney
  • Division I Women's Basketball: George Sanders
  • Beach Volleyball: George Sanders
  • Cross Country: Mike Matulia
  • Division I Men's Golf: Mike Matulia
  • Division I Women's Golf: Alison Mohr
  • Division I Women's Soccer: Alison Mohr
  • Division I Softball: Alison Mohr
  • Division II Softball: Steve Winterling (Chair)
  • Swimming & Diving: Mike Matulia
  • Women's Tennis: Sarah Lytle
  • Division I Volleyball: George Sanders
  • Division II Volleyball: Steve Winterling
  • Women's Flag Football: Alison Mohr (Chair)

In addition to the sport committee assignments, Rob Chaney will chair the Division I Oversight Committee and serve on the NJCAA Eligibility Committee, and George Sanders will serve on the Student-Athlete Welfare & Safety Council.
