Pasco, Daytona, Gateway close fall at NJCAA Half Marathon

Men's Final Results | Women's Final Results

FORT DODGE, Iowa (November 18, 2020) - Three schools from Region 8 competed in the NJCAA's final fall event, the Half Marathon Championships, hosted by Iowa Central Community College.

Seven schools competed on the women's side with Pasco-Hernando State College finishing fourth and Florida Gateway College, seventh. 

Individually, for Pasco-Hernando State, Sydney Stoltzfoos finished tenth in a time of 1:39:14.9 while teammate Jensen Mayer was right behind in 11th in a time of 1:39:49.2. Gabrielle Marshall, Katerina Dobkowski and Jessica Perez placed 13th through 15th, respectively. 

For Florida Gateway, Merlin Leal was the top performer, posting a time of 1:49:52.6, good for 19th place. Savana Thomas finished 27th and Chelsie Selliken, 34th. 

Daytona State College was the only school competing on the men's side and the Falcons placed sixth in the 13-team field. 

Andy Martinez was the top runner, finishing 13th in a time of 1:12:22.1. Adam Mastrobuono was 18th while Jerdary Ayala and Tyler Gilbert placed 31st and 36th, respectively.
