NJCAA Region 8 Basketball Notebook: January 14

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 14, 2020) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Polls for January 13 and Player of the Week selections for games played through January 6-12.

The next poll and player of the week selections will be released January 21.

NJCAA Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

  • Averaged 28.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals in two games during the voting period
  • Shot 51.4 percent (19-of-37) from the field, 47.1 percent (8-of-17) from three and 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from the free throw line
  • Led Indian River State to Southern Conference wins over Palm Beach State and ASA Miami
  • After a 25-point, 8-rebound effort against Palm Beach State, he tallied 32 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals against ASA Miami

  • Averaged 37.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two games during the voting period
  • Shot 50.9 percent (28-of-55) from the field, 42.3 percent (11-of-26) from three and 80.0 percent (8-of-10) from the free throw line
  • Led FSW to a pair of wins against Region 8 foes Hillsborough and Daytona State
  • In the win against Hillsborough, she scored a school-record 41 points on 16-of-24 shooting (7-of-11 threes)
  • Posted a double-double (29 points, 10 rebounds) in the win at FSW
