NJCAA Region 8 Baseball/Softball Notebook: February 11

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 11, 2020) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Baseball and Softball Coaches’ Polls for February 10 and named its Player and Pitcher of the Week recipients for all games played through February 9. 

The next coaches’ poll will be released February 17 and next Player and Pitcher of the Week selections, February 18.

  • Batted .545 (18-for-33) with 11 runs scored, four doubles, one triple, one home run and 10 RBI in eight games during the voting period
  • Hit safely in all eight games he appeared in, helping the Saints to seven wins
  • Had five straight multi-hit games during the stretch, including 3-for-3 vs. Hillsborough and 4-for-4 vs. South Georgia State in consecutive games
  • Was also 4-for-5 with a home run vs. Tallahassee

  • Made three appearances out of the Titans’ bullpen, combining for 6.2 scoreless innings and 10 strikeouts
  • Picked up the win vs. Seminole State in a 5-2 victory

  • Hit safely in 11 of the 13 games; had six multi-hit and six multi-RBI games
  • Was 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI vs. Miami Dade; 3-for-3, three doubles and six RBI vs. State College of Florida

  • Included were complete-game victories over three nationally-ranked opponents – Blinn, Salt Lake and Chattanooga State
  • Allowed one hit and struck out 13 vs. Salt Lake; allowed three hits and struck out 11 vs. Chattanooga State
