NJCAA Region 8 Basketball Notebook: December 17

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 17, 2019) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Polls for December 16 and Player of the Week selections for games played through December 9-15.

The next poll and player of the week selections will be released January 7.

NJCAA Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

  • Averaged 30.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 4.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in two games during the voting period
  • Shot 55.0 percent (22-of-40) from the field and 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line
  • Led State College of Florida to a pair of wins at the Florida College’s Men’s Basketball Shootout
  • Had 41 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 107-101 win vs. ASA Miami; the next day, he scored his 1,000th career point against Florida State College-Jacksonville

  • Shot 48.8 percent (21-of-43) from the field and 65.4 percent (17-of-26) from the free throw line
  • Led Hillsborough to Region 8 wins over Indian River State and Florida State College-Jacksonville
  • Posted double-doubles in each game – 28 points and 10 rebounds vs. Indian River State; 32 points and 11 rebounds vs. Florida State College-Jacksonville
