Indian River State sweeps FAU in swimming and diving

FT. PIERCE, Fla. (October 28, 2016) - Indian River State College's men's and women's swimming and diving teams picked up their first wins of the season on Friday by sweeping Florida Atlantic University in a dual meet.

Indian River State's men's team dominated the Owls, winning by the score of 149-92. Meanwhile, the Indian River State and FAU women went down to the wire before the Pioneers pulled out a 122-115 win.

On the women's side, the outcome was in doubt heading to the final two events - the 1 and 3 meter diving. But Indian River State took first and third place in both events to put away the Owls.

Adrianna Warning finished in first in both and teammate Domineeka Luis finished third in both, totaling a combined 24 points while FAU managed just eight total in the two events.

The River got off to a fast start, with both the men and women taking the 200 yard medley relay.

The women's team of Courtney Stewart, Lauren Meyrick, Osianna McRred and Courtney Perrett finished in 1:47.32 while the men's quartet of Jason Van Der Touw, John Fauteux, Nicholas Loomis and Gavin Erdmann swam a 1:32.53.
