HUTCHINSON, Kan. - For the second straight season, the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Championship was an All-Florida final featuring Florida SouthWestern State College and Miami Dade College. Also following the script of the 2022 final was the outcome - a victory and second consecutive National Championship for the FSW Buccaneers.

Florida SouthWestern prevailed 3-1, punctuating a 2023 campaign in which the Bucs finished 31-1, losing only nine sets the entire season. At 58-2 over the last two seasons, they are also just the fifth school in NJCAA history to win back-to-back national championships.

Though Miami Dade entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed, few were surprised to see the Sharks and Bucs be the last teams standings. Their routes to title tilt only served as validation. Florida SouthWestern swept its way past Colby (Kan.) Community College, the College of Southern Idaho and Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College while Miami Dade picked up 3-0 wins against Casper (Wyo.) College and Weatherford (Texas) College before needing four sets to get past Navarro (Texas) College in the semifinals.

Miami Dade took the first set against FSW in the final, but the Bucs found their footing and won the next three sets, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-18.

Florida SouthWestern setter extraordinaire Roberta Purashaj was named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player. She was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Victoria Zibecchi and Alondra Alarcon, as well as Miami Dade's Ana Tevdoradze and Katielle Alonzo.

FSW's Thais Baziquetto-Allen was named the Heidi Cartisser Coach of the Tournament.

Daytona State College, making its first tournament appearance, lost its opening round match to Trinity Valley then fell to Indian Hills (Iowa) Community College in the consolation bracket.
