LAKE WORTH, Fla. – The Florida College System Activities Association announced its Division II All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8 volleyball team on Thursday evening.
Headlining the 12-member team is Pensacola State College's Kiara Vega, who received the Dulcie "Cookie" Stevens Award, presented to the FCSAA Division II Player of the Year.
Vega, a sophomore setter from Lake Mary, Fla., has led Pensacola State to a 28-3 record (12-1 in Sun-Lakes Conference play) and No. 13 national ranking. She leads Region 8 and is third in the NJCAA, averaging 10.5 assists per set. Her 1,114 totals assists ranks ninth nationally.
Vega has also averaged 0.4 kills, 0.4 service aces, 2.7 digs and 0.3 blocks per set while posting a .370 hitting percentage across 31 matches.
She is a 9-time Region 8 Division II Setter of the Week recipient this season and was named NJCAA Division II Offensive Player of the Week on September 13.
The FCSAA Player of the Year is voted on by the FCSAA's Division II Volleyball Coaches.
