EFSC will host state volleyball tournament Nov. 4-6

MELBOURNE, Fla. (October 30, 2022) - Eastern Florida State College will host the FCSAA/NJCAA Division I Southeast District Tournament Nov. 4-6 at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

Six teams will compete for the Southeast District title as well as two spots in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament which is at the West Plains Civic Center in West Plains, MO Nov. 17-19.

Four of the six teams come into the tournament nationally ranked in the NJCAA Division I poll including the No. 1 team in the country, Florida Southwestern who is the No. 1 seed in the tournament.

Eastern Florida State College will be one of the six teams competing as the Titans finished the regular season with a four-set win over No. 16 Hillsborough Community College to finish 8-6 in the Suncoast Conference. It will mark the second time in four seasons that the Titans have qualified for the state tournament.

No. 4 Miami Dade College, No. 15 Daytona State College, No. 16 Hillsborough and Polk State College are all competing for the title.

The tournament will begin Friday, Nov. 4 with four matches as all six teams will be on the court. The first match of the day will begin at 9 a.m. with games at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Titan Field House.

Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. with the fifth-place game, then the third-place match at noon before the Southeast District final at 3 p.m. The winner will be the first team to punch their ticket to the national tournament.

The loser of Saturday's final game will play the winner of Region 10/17 Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. for a spot in the national tournament.
