CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 22, 2022) - Famed American musician Meat Loaf famously coined the lyrics, "two out of three ain't bad." The late singer would have assuredly been impressed with Region 8, who took three out of four in this week's NJCAA Division I/II Volleyball Player of the Week selections.

Region 8 swept the Division I awards with Eastern Florida State College's Emma Kiser being named Offensive Player of the Week and Miami Dade College's Kiaraliz Perez being named Defensive Player of the Week.

State College of Florida's Kendall Steiner was named Division II Offensive Player of the Week.

Kiser, a freshman rightside hitter from Cumming, Ga., averaged 4.4 kills, 1.0 assist, 0.5 service aces, 1.5 digs and 0.6 blocks over eight sets.

Equally impressively, with only three hitting errors in 57 total attempts, she posted a .561 hitting percentage.

Kiser led Eastern Florida State to wins over Indian River State College and Polk State State with 17 and 18 kills, respectively.

Perez is a sophomore defensive specialist from Naranjito, Puerto, Rico.

In seven sets, she averaged 6.4 digs.

Playing against a pair of nationally-ranked opponents, she tallied 29 digs in wins vs. No. 14 Hillsborough Community College and 16 vs. No. 18 Daytona State College.

Steiner, a freshman setter from Englewood, Fla., averaged 10.3 assists over nine sets.

She posted a pair of double-doubles, leading SCF to wins over Pasco-Hernando State College (42 assists, 10 digs) and South Florida State College (51 assists, 12 digs).
