CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 8, 2021) - Palm Beach State College's Darlenis Medina was named the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Medina, a sophomore defensive specialist from Dorado, Puerto Rico, averaged 9.4 digs over eight sets last week for the Panthers. 

She recorded a season-high 50 digs in the Panthers' five-set victory over Florida Gateway College then had 25 digs in a straight-set win vs. Florida State College at Jacksonville.

Medina was named NJCAA Region 8 Division II Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
