CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 31, 2018) - Miami Dade College's Samaret Caraballo was named the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Caraballo, a sophomore outside hitter from the Dominican Republic, averaged 8.5 digs in 11 sets over three matches during the voting period. She recorded three 25-Dig Club entries, including 37 vs. Daytona State and 31 vs. nationally-ranked Santa Fe. 

Caraballo was named the Region 8 Division I Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
