Lake-Sumter State's Emmy Gray named NJCAA DII Volleyball Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (November 7, 2018) - Lake-Sumter State College's Emma Gray was named the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Gray, a sophomore outside hitter from Fruitland Park, Fla., was named the NJCAA Region 8 Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading the Lakehawks to the FCSAA Sun-Lakes Conference/NJCAA District P Championship and the school's first-ever trip to a national tournament. 

Gray was named Most Outstanding Player of the NJCAA DII District P Tournament, averaging 4.1 kills, 2.9 digs and posting a .302 hitting percentage in two matches. 

She posted double-doubles in each match – 14 kills and 11 digs vs. St. Johns River State and 27 kills and 18 digs vs. Pasco-Hernando State in the championship match.
