NJCAA Region 8 Volleyball Notebook: September 5

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 5, 2017) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Volleyball Coaches’ Poll for September 5 and Player, Defensive Player and Setter of the Week selections for all matches played through September 3.

The next poll and individual weekly awards will be released September 12.

  • Led top-ranked Miami Dade to a perfect 8-0 start to the season, including wins over four nationally-ranked opponents
  • Averaged 3.7 kills, 2.3 digs and 4.6 points in 21 sets over seven matches
  • Recorded double-digit kills in four matches, including 12 against No. 4 Polk State when she also had 13 digs for the double-double

  • Averaged 8.1 digs in 24 sets over eight matches
  • Recorded 25+ digs five times, including 37 against No. 4 Polk State

  • Led top-ranked Miami Dade to a perfect 8-0 start to the season, including wins over four nationally-ranked opponents
  • Averaged 12.1 assists in 19 sets over eight matches
  • Also averaged 1.9 digs and posted 18 digs and a season-high 41 assists against No. 8 Southern Idaho
  • Recorded at least 15 assists in each match and 20+ in seven of the eigth
