Miami Dade trio leads NJCAA volleyball All-Americans

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (December 7, 2017) - Three players from national champion Miami Dade College landed on the NJCAA's Division I All-America team, released on Thursday.

Miami Dade outside hitters Massiel Matos, Rafaella Bonifacio and Sun Wenting all earned first-team All-America honors, with Matos being a repeat first-team honoree. They were joined on the All-America first-team by Florida State College at Jacksonville's Kaylon Cruickshank. 

In all, six players from Region 8 earned Division I All-America honors, along with Pasco-Hernando State College outside hitter Carla Butler, who was a Division II second-team selection. 

Other Region 8 players who earned Division I All-America honors were Polk State College's Kathya Garcia (second-team) and St. Petersburg College's Beatriz Vieira (honorable mention).
