St. Petersburg's Nina Petranovic named NJCAA Volleyball Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 5, 2016) - St. Petersburg College's Nina Petranovic was named NJCAA Division I Volleyball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Petranovic, a sophomore outside hitter from Polzela, Slovenia, led St. Petersburg to a perfect 3-0 week including wings over No. 1 Hillsborough and No. 2 Polk State. She averaged 3.4 kills, 1.1 assists, 0.4 service aces, 1.2 digs, 0.8 blocks and 4.2 points in 13 sets over three matches.

Petranovic also posted a .459 hitting percentage for the week.

She tallied 18 kills (3.6/set) and a .486 hitting percentage in the 3-2 win over Hillsborough and followed that up with a double-double - 15 kills and 11 digs – in the 3-1 win against Polk State and 11 kills and 14 assists vs. Indian River State.

Petranovic was named NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week on Monday. 

She is the third NJCAA Player of the Week recipient from Region 8, joining Hillsborough Community College's Abigail O'Ferrell and Palm Beach State College's Haley Seyfarth.
