FCSAA Volleyball Notebook: November 9

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 9, 2015) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its Co-Volleyball Player of the Week selections for the week ending November 8.

Co-NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Volleyball Player of the Week
Abigail O’Ferrell, Hillsborough
Freshman – OH
Labelle, Fla. 

  • Led Hillsborough to the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Championship and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player
  • Averaged 4.3 kills and 3.6 digs in 11 total sets over three matches
  • Posted double-doubles vs. Palm Beach State (18 kills, 18 digs) and Polk State (10 kills, 14 digs)
  • Had a .321 hitting percentage

Co-NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Volleyball Setter of the Week
Teddi Wright, Pasco-Hernando State
Sophomore
Lutz, Fla. 

  • Led Pasco-Hernando State to the NJCAA District P Championship and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player
  • Averaged 0.6 kills, 13.4 assists, 0.1 service aces and 5.1 digs in nine total sets over three matches
  • Posted double-doubles in all three matches – 45 assists, 16 digs vs. Brunswick; 40 assists, 14 digs vs. Cape Fear; 36 assists, 16 digs vs. Catawba Valley
  • Had a .625 hitting percentage
