OCALA, Fla. (October 31, 2014) - For the fourth consecutive season, the College of Central Florida volleyball team has the Mid-Florida Conference Player of the Year.

Julymar Otero earned the conference's top player honor and made it a perfect four-for-four for the Patriots in terms of having the best player in the MFC.

Otero, a three-time state player of the week and the first CF volleyball player to ever NJCAA National Player of the Week honors, leads the nation in kills per set at 4.78. She is the first CF player to ever lead the nation in one of its major categories at this point of the season.

The freshman also has 473 total kills on the season and set the single-match school kill record with 27 and 32 in back-to-back games against Santa Fe and Daytona State. She is currently 61 kills away from surpassing Vanessa Benke's single-season school record of 533 kills set in 2011.

Otero's single-match record surpassed the previous school record of 25 co-held by Benke and Raveen Golston.

Earlier this season, Otero joined Benke and Christine Pinder as the only CF volleyball players to earn state player of the week honors. By vitrue of earning conference player of the year, Otero also joined Benke and Brittney Brown as Patriots who earned the conference's top honor.

Otero was joined on the first-team all-conference squad by sophomore setter Marina Adami.

Adami earned first-team all-MFC honors for the second straight season and gave CF the first-team all-conference setter for the fourth straight year. She set the career record for total assists with 2,843 assists and also holds the single-season assist record (1,621 set last season) and school record for most assists in a match (63).
