ITA releases preseason tennis rankings

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 19, 2014) - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) preseason junior/community colleges national women's rankings featured all six teams from Region 8 as well as ten individuals from member schools.

At No. 3, State College of Florida is the highest ranked team from Region 8. Broward College, St. Petersburg College and Florida State College at Jacksonville are ranked Nos. 10-12, respectively. Eastern Florida State College is 22nd, and Hillsborough Community College is 23rd. 

Individually, State College of Florida's Natella Nabieva took top preseason honors in Region 8, earning a No. 4 ranking. Broward's Maeva Sanchez is ranked No. 13, St. Petersburg's Jazz Whitaker is No. 16 and State College of Florida's Miranda Talbert is 19th. 

Other individuals ranked by ITA are: Olivia Rolle, Florida State College at Jacksonville, 23rd; Nicole Trio, Eastern Florida State College, 28th; Mikala Lowrance, State College of Florida, 30th; An Tagashira, St. Petersburg, 31st; Thais Castiglioni, Florida State College at Jacksonville, 35th; Amenia Houston, State College of Florida, 42nd; Juliana Gonclaves, Hillsborough, 44th; and Kiah Turner, Broward, 49th.

Doubles teams ranked by ITA are: Sanchez/Turner, Broward, 5th; Tagashira/Whitaker, St. Petersburg, 12th; Nabieva/Talbert, State College of Florida, 15th; Donnelly/Gonclaves, Hillsborough, 17th; Chemaly/Rolle, Florida State College at Jacksonville, 18th; Houston/Lowrance, State College of Florida, 23rd; Camacho/Miah, St. Petersburg, 36th; Arevalo/Priddy, Broward, 37th.
