Banner finish for Region 8 at national tennis tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. (May 8, 2015) - Led by State College of Florida, all three schools from Region 8 finished in the top 5 at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship.

The FCSAA-champion Manatees brought home a third-place finish with 35 team points, the second-best finish in school history, while Region 8 counterparts Florida State College at Jacksonville and Broward College tied for fourth with 28 points each. 

ASA brought home the team title followed by Tyler Junior College. 

State College of Florida also brought home some solid finishes in flight play. 

Second-seed Casey O'Toole advanced to the finals of Flight 6, where she dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision to Siuzanna Grigorian. 

The Manatees also came within one match of claiming a top doubles honor. Playing in Flight 2, Amiena Houston and Natella Nabieva lost in the finals, 6-2 and 6-1.
