BOCA RATON, Fla. (January 30, 2016) - The defending NJCAA national champions competed in its final college dual meet of the season, traveling to Boca Raton to take on Florida Atlantic University in the away leg of their in-state rivalry.

The women's team had a very close meet throughout the day exchanging the lead with FAU with nearly every event. The River women would end up winning nine of the 16 events to secure the victory with a very close 156-144 score.

Leading the way for the River was Tayla Lovemore and Christina Loh who both took three individual events each and were part of their winning relays. Lovemore secured victories in the 100 back, 100 free, 100 fly, and was part of the winning 200 free relay with teammates Osianna McReed, Yasmine Ware, and Leah Sims. Loh secured victories in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM, and was part of the winning 200 medley relay with teammates Ware, Emelie Stenhammar, and McReed. McReed was also a winner in the 50 free.

On the men's side of the competition, the River Men did not win either of the two relays, but managed to show their depth and secure wins in 10 of the 14 individual events winning the meet with a score of 179-114.

Jason Van Der Touw was the only multiple event winner taking the 1650 and 500 free. The other event winners came from Jairo Emer (100 back), Serginni Marten (100 breast), Rawley Davis (200 fly), John Fauteux (100 free), Matt Ankerholz (200 breast), Nick Loomis (100 fly), Robert Morgan (3 meter diving), and Cameron Newton (200 IM).

The IRSC team will next compete in the Stanton C. Cragie Memorial Invitational this coming weekend at IRSC. This will be the final meet leading up to the NJCAA national championships that will take place March 2-5, 2016, at IRSC's main campus in Ft. Pierce.
