Indian River State S&D splits with FAU

FT. PIERCE, Fla. (November 13, 2015) - The Indian River State College' men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued their season with a home meet against in state rival Florida Atlantic University on the main campus of Indian River State College.

Indian River State's women put up a great performance in a closely contested meet, but would fall short to FAU with a score of 138-162. Top performances came from Christina Loh in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, and the 200 IM. This is the second meet in a row where she has won those events. Additionally, she was part of the winning 200 medley relay with teammates Tayla Lovemore, Emelie Stenhammar, and Osianna McReed. Lovemore would also turn in wins in both the 100 backstoroke and 100 butterfly events, and join McReed, Leah Sims, and Stenhammar in the winning 200 free relay. McReed was also the winner in the 50 freestyle.

On the men's side, IRSC won 12 of the 16 events and would win with a score of 178-116. Winning performances came from Jason Van Der Touw (100 back and 500 free), Craig Emslie (50 and 100 free), Matt Nielsen (1000 free), John Fauteux (200 free), Joel Hansson (100 breast), Harrison Howerton (200 back), Matt Ankerholz (200 breast), and Nick Loomis (100 fly). IRSC also won both the 200 medley relay (Van Der Touw, Emslie, Hansson, Fauteux), and the 200 free relay (Fauteux, Emslie, Gavin Erdmann, and Joey Sedacca).
