TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Pensacola State College's inaugural women's soccer season has included a number of highs.

The Pirates won their first-ever regular season match, beating Hinds (Miss.) Community College, 3-2, on August 18. When they played their first Region 8 contests against Pasco-Hernando State College, they played to a 1-1 draw on September 8 before claiming a 2-0 victory the following day.

Three weeks later, Pensacola State traveled to Pasco-Hernando State for another doubleheader.

In game one, the Pirates and Bobcats played to another 1-1 tie, forcing a fourth and decisive match to determine the Region 8 Champion. A 2-0 win in the teams' fourth and final meeting gave Pensacola State the Region 8 Championship, leaving the Pirates just one win away from the National Tournament.

They'll get the opportunity to punch a ticket to Tucson, Ariz., when they travel to Cape Fear (N.C.) Community College on Saturday for the NJCAA Division II South Atlantic District Championship Game.

The NJCAA No. 15 Sea Devils (10-0-1) won the Region 10 Championship in dramatic fashion, scoring a goal with 12 seconds remaining to beat Wake Tech (N.C.) Community College, 1-0.

Saturday's game will begin at 1 p.m. eastern.
