CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Hillsborough Community College's Masiel Reyes was named NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Reyes, a freshman guard from Tampa, Fla., averaged 32.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in two games.
She shot 41.0 percent (25-of-61) from the field , 34.5 percent (10-of-29) from three and hit five of ten free throw attempts.
Reyes posted back-to-back 30-point games against Palm Beach State and Florida SouthWestern. She tallied 32 points on 13-of-30 shooting against Palm Beach State and also pulled down 13 rebounds for the double-double. Against Florida SouthWestern, she poured in 33 points.
Reyes hit five threes in each game.
