TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida College System Activities Association announced its Division I All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8 women's basketball team on Wednesday.
Headlining the 12-member team is FCSAA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Year Amelia Hassett of Eastern Florida State College.
The FCSAA Player of the Year is voted on by members of the FCSAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee.
Hassett, a sophomore forward from Albury, NSW, Australia, was previously voted the Citrus Conference Player of the Year after averaging 19.9 points, a Region 8-best 12.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 29 games for the Titans. She has also shot an impressive 56.3 percent from the field, which ranks third in Region 8 and sits atop the Region 8 leaders in both three-point field goal percentage (42.6 percent) and free throw percentage (84.9 percent).
Hassett is a four-time Region 8 Player of the Week honoree, and was named NJCAA Player of the Week on February 14.
