Santa Fe's Neely Peterson named NJCAA Softball Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 14, 2021) - The National Junior College Athletic Association announced its Player of the Week awards on Wednesday and Santa Fe College's Neely Peterson took home Division I Softball Player of the Week honors.

Peterson, a sophomore catcher from Wesley Chapel, Fla., batted .688 (11-for-16) with five runs scored, three doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI in five games.

She hit safely in all five games as the Saints posted three wins in five games last week.

Peterson went 5-for-6 with two homers and nine RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Florida State College at Jacksonville. She was also 3-for-3, scored twice and homered in game two vs. Central Florida. 

Peterson was named NJCAA Region 8 Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
