COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 9, 2016) - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its first regular season softball poll on Wednesday. 

The @MarucciSports Division I Softball Poll, particulary the top ten, is dominated by Region 8. 

The College of Central Florida, currently 31-1 on the season, is the unanimous No. 1 team. The Patriots were ranked No. 3 in the preseason poll. 

Three other teams from Region 8 landed in the top ten - Panhandle Conference rivals No. 4 Northwest Florida State College and No. 5 Chipola College, and Central Florida's Mid-Florida Conference rival Florida State College at Jacksonville, who is No. 8. 

Indian River State College cracked the poll at No. 14, as did No. 17 Gulf Coast State College.
