FT. PIERCE, Fla. (January 15, 2016) - The Indian River State college men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued their season with a home meet against in-state rival Florida Southern College last weekend.

Both River teams fell short of winning against the NCAA Division 2 powerhouse with scores of 120-85 for the women and 133.5-71.5 for the men.

Christina Loh and Tayla Lovemore did however continue their great performances by winning their respective events. Loh was part of the winning 400 medley relay that included Lovemore, Yasmine Ware, and Sarah Dostie. Individually, she also won the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke events. Lovemore took the victory in the 200 backstroke and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay with teammates Sarah Neely, Ware, and Osianna McReed.

On the men's side, despite some close finshes, Indian River State was only able to secure one win in the 200 freestyle relay with the team of Danny Hartley, Gavin Erdmann, John Fauteux, and Serginni Marten. 

Up next for the River will be a meet at Florida Atlantic University on January 30.

Indian River State competed against FAU earlier this season and split. The men defeated the Owls but came up short in a closely contested women's meet.
