EFSC men's soccer team wins Southeast District championship

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team won the Southeast District Championship Saturday afternoon at Georgia Military in Milledgeville, Georgia.

The Titans defeated host Georgia Military 1-0 in the final to clinch the title. Both teams advanced to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament Nov. 12 at Daytona State College.

The teams batted to a scoreless tie in the first half but Abdel Kuku found Aedon Kyra who put it in the back of the net to give the Titans the lead.

"Really impressive team performance once again. We have found a way through hard work and desire to become a championship team," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "Another clean sheet from our immense back five plus a fantastic strike from Aedon assisted by kuks showed our quality at both ends today. Really proud of the team and the staff that have grown so much throughout the season. We are excited for the national championship."

It is the third time the mens soccer team has made it to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament.
