TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 8, 2017) - The 16th Annual Florida College's Men's Basketball Shootout will take place Saturday and Sunday, December 9 and 10.
This year's event will again be played at the College of Central Florida in Ocala, Fla., and Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Fla.
All 20 Division I teams in Region 8 will participate in the Shootout, providing a total of 20 cross-conference games over two days.
The loaded field features seven teams currently ranked in the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Poll, including top-ranked and undefeated Northwest Florida State College, and two others - Daytona State College and Indian River State College - who received votes.
Northwest Florida State will play its games in Ocala at 6 p.m. Saturday (vs. Daytona State) and 2 p.m. Sunday (vs. Indian River State).
Joining the Raiders in the national rankings are No. 4 Tallahassee Community College, No. 7 Eastern Florida State College, No. 10 Florida SouthWestern State College, No. 22 Chipola College, No. 23 Gulf Coast State College and No. 25 College of Central Florida.
The Shootout slate includes four games matching ranked opponents - (7) Eastern Florida State vs. (10) Florida SouthWestern (7 p.m. Saturday), (23) Gulf Coast State vs. (25) Central Florida (8 p.m. Saturday), (4) Tallahassee vs. (10) Florida SouthWestern (5 p.m. Sunday) and (7) Eastern Florida State vs. (22) Chipola (7 p.m. Sunday).
