COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 16, 2016) - Daytona State College's Nashad Mackey was named NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Mackey, a sophomore guard from Nassau, Bahamas, averaged 17.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks in three games during the voting period, leading the Falcons to a 3-0 record. 

He shot 66.7 percent (20-of-30) from the floor, 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from the three-point line and 88.9 percent (8-of-9) from the free throw line.

Mackey scored in double-figures in all three games and posted double-doubles against South Georgia Tech (28 points, 11 rebounds) and Hillsborough (10 points, 14 rebounds). He also shot 10-of-12 from the floor in the win over South Georgia Tech.

Mackey was named NJCAA Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
