COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (December 21, 2016) - Indian River State College's Shaun Willett was named NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Willett, a sophomore guard from Palm Bay, Fla., averaged 22.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 0.5 steals in two games during the voting period. 

He shot 61.3 percent (19-of-31) from the field and 75.0 percent (6-of-8) from the free throw line.

Willett helped Indian River State to victories over Florida State College at Jacksonville and Santa Fe last week.

He shot 10-of-15 from the floor and scored 23 points in the win over Florida State College and followed that with a 21-point, 14-rebound double-double in a win over Santa Fe.

Willett is the second Region 8 player to receive the award this season, joining Daytona State College's Nashad Mackey (November 16).
