Eastern Florida State's C.J. Jackson named NJCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 10, 2016) - Eastern Florida State College's C.J. Jackson has been named the NJCAA's Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week. 

Jackson was named the NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Jackson, a freshman guard from Charlotte, N.C., averaged 30.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two games during the voting period, which ran February 1-7.

He shot 53.1 percent (17-of-32) from the field, 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from the three-point line and 77.8 percent (14-of-18) from the free throw line

Jackson led Eastern Florida State to a 2-0 record, including its third victory over nationally-ranked Palm Beach State, and the school’s fourth straight Southern Conference Championship.

Jackson tallied 21 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals in a win over Miami Dade College then hit eight three-pointers en route to 39 points in the overtime win at Palm Beach State. 

Jackson is the second player of the week recipient from Region 8 this season. Miami Dade College's Darius Williams earned the honor January 21.
