SCF's Brandon Fields named NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 6, 2022) - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced its Player of the Week awards on Wednesday and State College of Florida's Brandon Fields was named Division I Baseball Player of the Week.

Fields, a sophomore outfielder from Orlando, Fla., batted .524 (11-for-21) with nine runs scored, two doubles, two triples, two home runs (1.095 slugging %), seven RBI and three stolen bases in five games.

He hit safely and scored in four straight games to begin the week. The first of those four games was against South Florida State College in which he hit for the cycle, going 5-for-6 with three runs scored, a homer, 4 RBI and two stolen bases. 

In games one and two of a three-game set vs. Polk State College, Fields was a combined 5-for-7. 

Fields was named NJCAA Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
