CF's Nix named NJCAA Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 17, 2019) - The College of Central Florida's James Nix was named NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Nix, a freshman right fielder from Huntsville, Ala., batted .750 (9-for-12) with 14 runs scored, one double, three home runs, seven RBI and six stolen bases in four games during the voting period. He helped the Patriots to a 4-0 week, including a pair of Mid-Florida Conference wins.

Nix hit safely, including three multi-hit efforts, and scored at least twice in each game. His biggest game of the week came against Seminole State when he scored six runs and had five stolen in the Patriots' 17-8 win.

Nix was named Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week on Tuesday. This is his second NJCAA Player of the Week award in 2019.
