ASA Miami Baseball Explodes For 16 Runs Against Broward College

DAVIE, FL. - Head Coach Jonathan Hernandez knew that this years roster was going to succeed and put up numbers that would lead to victories. However, the season didn't start off looking that way. Don't look now, but ASA has won their last three games and four of their last six. The latest win coming yesterday afternoon against the Seahawks of Broward College, 16-1.

Several players contributed to the big win, but the performances of OF Peter Baldrich and RHP Ralph Fernandez are difficult not to notice. Baldrich went 5/5 with four RBI. Five hits are the most hits an ASA Miami player has ever recorded in a single game. As for Fernandez, the lefty threw seven innings and only allowed one unearned run.

6'8 first-baseman Orlando Ribalta hit his first home-run this season. Coach Hernandez is convinced it was over 400 feet in distance. "It's great to see Orlando finally start squaring baseball's up. It's definitely a scary site for opposing pitchers once he gets going." Ribalta is not the only one heating up for the Silver Storm. ASA bolted out 23 hits yesterday, that brings the teams overall batting average to .294.

The Silver Storm were supposed to travel to Kendall today and take on Miami-Dade College at 2pm. However, that game has now been canceled due to rain. Next up for ASA is St. Thomas University JV on Thursday at 4pm.
