Storm Baseball Picks Up Much Deserved Win Over Miami-Dade College

Kendall, FL. - Head Baseball Coach Jonathan Hernandez and the Silver Storm Baseball team took down the Miami-Dade College Sharks 12-3 on Wednesday afternoon.

The victory was the first in the programs history (three years) against the Sharks. That performance by the entire team was just what the doctor ordered. This past weekend, the Storm faced top-ranked teams such as the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota and Gulf Coast State College. Both games were tough and hard fought with ASA coming up short 5-4 twice. Wednesday's starter, Anthony Vazquez (1-0) earned his first win of the season with a strong outing against the Sharks. Vazquez went five innings with three strikeouts while allowing three runs. Freshman out-fielders Juan Teixiera and Kenny Moreno-Costa are off to hot starts this season. Teixiera drove in three runs on Wednesday and is now batting .444 on the season. Moreno-Costa went 3-5 with two RBI, bumping his average over .400 as well (.412).

Up next for ASA Miami is Broward College on Saturday afternoon at 1pm in Davie, FL.
