Santa Fe tops NJCAA's first regular season baseball poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 13, 2016) - The NJCAA released its first regular season baseball rankings on Wednesday and Santa Fe College earned the top spot in the Murucci Sports Division I Baseball Poll.

Santa Fe (35-5), also the No. 1 team in the Region 8 Baseball Coaches' Poll, received four of the ten first-place votes to narrowly outdistance No. 2 San Jacinto (Texas)-North. San Jacinto, No. 3 Chipola College and No. 4 Connors State (Okla.) College received two first-place votes each. 

In addition to Santa Fe and Chipola, Region 8 also boasts No. 13 St. Johns River State College and No. 18 Northwest Florida State College in the initial regular season rankings. 

Eastern Florida State College received votes. 

The Marucci Sports Division II Baseball Poll also had Region 8 representation - Pasco-Hernando State College is ranked No. 13.
