TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 3, 2015) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Player of the Week selections for the week ending November 1. 

The first regular season coaches’ polls will be released Tuesday, November 10.

NJCAA Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kevin Maura, Central Florida
Sophomore – Guard
San Juan, P.R. 

• Averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 10.5 assists and 1.5 steals in two games
• Led Central Florida to wins over ASA Miami and Region 8 No. 7 St. Petersburg
• Posted double-digit assists vs. ASA Miami (13) and scored in double-figures with 11 vs. St. Petersburg.
• Shot 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from the floor, hit 4-of-6 three-pointers and 3-of-4 free throws

Jaiveonna Norris, Miami Dade
Sophomore – Center
Chicago Heights, Ill. 

• Tallied 30 points, 12 rebounds, one assist and two steals in her only game of the week, a 95-73 win over Hillsborough
• Shot 66.7 percent (12-of-18) from the floor and hit all three of her three-point attempts
