NJCAA Basketball Polls Update: December 16

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (December 16, 2015) - Schools from Region 8 continue to dot the national landscape heading into the holiday break. 

In the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Poll, the same four teams from Region 8 remain in the Top 25 although there was some movement in the order or ranking. 

Palm Beach State College, the new No. 1 team in the NJCAA Region 8 Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll, rose four spots to No. 3. The 12-0 Panthers, who received one of the 16 first-place votes, took the poll position vacated by previous No. 3 Northwest Florida State College. 

The Raiders remained in the top ten, although they slid six spots to No. 9. 

The third and fourth teams from Region 8 also switched the order in which they're ranked. 

Daytona State College, ranked No. 18 last week, climbed to No. 16 while previous No. 14 Eastern Florida State College dropped four spots to No. 18. 

In the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Poll, Region 8 now has six teams ranked in the top 25. 

Gulf Coast State College continues to be the highest-ranked team, at No. 3. Chipola College and Daytona State Collegea are No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, while Northwest Florida State College is No. 10. 

Tallahassee Community College rose four spots to the No. 21 spot followed by No. 25 Florida State College at Jacksonville. 

The next NJCAA polls will be released the week of January 4.
