COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (December 2, 2015) - The NJCAA has released its first basketball polls of the 2015-16 regular season.

In the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Poll, defending national champion and Region 8 No. 1 Northwest Florida State College is ranked No. 3, the same spot it held in the NJCAA's preseason rankings. 

Daytona State College, unranked in the preseason, is immediately behind the Raiders at No. 4. Those two schools hold down the top two spots in this week's Region 8 Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll, though in the opposite order with Daytona State at No. 1. 

At No. 8, Palm Beach State College gives Region 8 three teams in the top ten, and Eastern Florida State College checks in at No. 18.

In the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Poll, four teams from Region 8 are ranked in the top 25 and, like the men's poll, three are in the top ten.

Gulf Coast State College leads the way at No. 3 followed by No. 8 Daytona State and No. 10 Northwest Florida State. 

Florida State College at Jacksonville is ranked eighteenth and Tallahassee Community College received votes.
