Maura, King lead All-America basketball selections

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 7, 2016) - The College of Central Florida's Kevin Maura and Gulf Coast State College's Kristina King were named first-team All-Americans by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Both Maura and King were previously named FCSAA Men's and Women's Basketball State Player of the Year, respectively. 

A total of seven student-athletes from Region 8 were named to the NJCAA's various All-America squads, though Maura and King were the lone first-team selections. 

Earning second-team All-America honors were Eastern Florida State College's C.J. Jackson (men) and Chipola College's Aisha Edwards (women).

Daytona State College's Brittney Chambers was named third-team All-America (women). 

Northwest Florida State College's Shadell Millinghaus (men) and Miami Dade College's Nachalie Dejesus (women) were honorable mention selections.
