TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 21, 2014) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its Volleyball Coaches’ Poll and Player of the Week recipients for October 21.
The next poll will be released October 28.

NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Volleyball Player of the Week
Lea Lieb, State College of Florida

State College of Florida’s Lea Lieb is this week's NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Volleyball Player of the Week. Lieb, a sophomore from Sonthofen, Bavaria, Germany, averaged 12.5 assists, 0.8 kills, 0.8 aces, 2.1 digs and 0.4 blocks over 16 sets and five matches during the voting period. The Manatees went 5-0 last week behind Lieb, who has led the team to 14 straight wins since taking over setting duties. She racked up a total of 200 assists, including a season-high 64 against Wallace State-Hanceville (October 18), and was credited with 13 aces, highlighted by six in a straight-set win over Vincennes (October 18). Lieb started the week with a double-digit dig effort – 12 vs. Hillsborough (October 15).

Miami Dade College’s Adriana Pena is this week's NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Pena, a sophomore from Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, averaged 7.5 digs over ten sets and four matches during the voting period. After recording 16 digs in two sets against Indian River State (October 16), Pena stamped her name in the 25-Dig Club in consecutive matches on October 17 against New Mexico Military (25) and Iowa Western (28).
