TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Weekly Awards in Volleyball and Cross Country.

Region 8 Players of the Week Awards (for events/matches September 11-17)
Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:
- Region 8 DI Volleyball Player of the Week: Vivian Lucumi, Miami Dade
- Region 8 DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Nina Boledovicova, Florida SouthWestern
- Region 8 DI Volleyball Setter of the Week: Luiza Da Cruz, Miami Dade
- Region 8 DII Volleyball Player of the Week: Kylie Ciani, Pasco-Hernandno State
- Region 8 DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Kelsey Dodd, South Florida State
- Region 8 DII Volleyball Setter of the Week: Kiara Vega, Pensacola State
- Region 8 Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Jared Falchook, Daytona State
- Region 8 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Giovana Meade, Daytona State
All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Fall Sports Updates
- Volleyball
- Division I: The NJCAA Division I Poll continues to be led by No. 1 Florida SouthWestern State College and No. 2 Miami Dade College. Eastern Florida State College dropped two spots to No. 12, Polk State College climbed two spots to No. 15 and Daytona State College slipped one spot to No. 19.
- Division II: Pensacola State College jumped six spots to No. 12 in the NJCAA Division II Poll following a 3-0 win at then-No. 3 Gulf Coast State College, who dropped six spots to No. 9.
- Men's Soccer: Eastern Florida State is No. 8 and Daytona State, No. 12, in the NJCAA Division I Poll, heading into the teams' first Region 8 meeting of the season on Tuesday.
- Women's Soccer
- Division I: Daytona State and Eastern Florida State are ranked Nos. 4 and 5, respectively, in the NJCAA Division I Poll. Polk State received votes for the fourth straight week.
- Cross Country:
- Women: At the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Ala., site of the 2023 NJCAA Championships, Daytona State finished 22nd and was the highest-finishing NJCAA team. Pasco-Hernando State College came in 24th while Eastern Florida State and Florida Gateway College were 28th and 30th, respectively. South Florida State was the lone two-year school competing in the Keiser University Flagship Invitational and the Panthers finished ninth.
- Men: Daytona State was the highest placing Region 8 team at the Southern Showcase, finishing 15th. Eastern Florida was next in 23rd while Pasco-Hernando State and Florida Gateway were 25th and 31st, respectively.
- Men's Golf: Eastern Florida State won the Dan York Memorial Tournament in Cullman, Ala.
