TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Weekly Awards in basketball.
December 4, 2023 Coaches' Polls
Region 8 Players of the Week Awards (for games November 27-December 3)
Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:
- Region 8 DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Jayshayne Woodard, Indian River State
- Region 8 DII Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Tarence Guinyard, Florida State College at Jacksonville
- Region 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Jaida McDonald, Pensacola State
All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Winter Sports Updates
- Men's Basketball
- Division I: Daytona State College's win at No. 1 Northwest Florida State College propelled the Falcons to No. 4 in the NJCAA DI Poll, one spot ahead of the No. 5 Raiders. Indian River State College entered the poll at No. 21 after knocking off then-No. 5 Chipola College, who slipped to No. 13. Eastern Florida State College is ranked 20th.
- Division II: Florida State College at Jacksonville joined Palm Beach State College among the teams receiving votes in the NJCAA DII Poll.
- Women's Basketball
- Division I: Northwest Florida State continues to sit atop the NJCAA DI Poll. Gulf Coast State College and Pensacola State College moved up one spot to Nos. 4 and 7, respectively. Chipola remained No. 20 and Eastern Florida State moved up one to No. 22.
- Division II: Palm Beach State held its spot at No. 19 in the NJCAA DII Poll.
