TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 13, 2022) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Player of the Week Awards in Volleyball and Cross Country.

• Region 8 Volleyball Coaches' Polls (DI/DII)

Region 8 Players of the Week Awards (for all events/matches September 5-11)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:

• Region 8 DI Volleyball Player of the Week: Barbara Koehler, Florida SouthWestern
• Region 8 DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Kiaraliz Perez, Miami Dade
• Region 8 DI Volleyball Setter of the Week: Mya Mendoza, Daytona State
• Region 8 DII Volleyball Player of the Week: Anyaliz Rodriguez, Pensacola State
• Region 8 DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Julia Neveu, Pensacola State
• Region 8 DII Volleyball Setter of the Week: Haley Ebbert, Pasco-Hernando State College
• Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Dayton Law, Eastern Florida State
• Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Kayla DesMartin, Florida Gateway

All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Fall Sports Updates

• Cross Country: Eastern Florida State College hosted its first-ever cross country meet on Saturday, welcoming numerous two- and four-year programs to the EFSC Classic.
• Men's Soccer: Daytona State College (4-0) moved up one spot to No. 4 in the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Poll, while Eastern Florida State checks in at No. 20. The teams open their best-of-3 regular season series on Wednesday when the Falcons travel to Orlando Health Stadium. The winner of the best-of-3 will claim the Region 8 Championship.
• Women's Soccer: Eastern Florida State College (4-0) remained a unanimous No. 1 in the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Poll. Daytona State College (4-0-1) moved up three spots to No. 15.
• Volleyball: For a third straight week, Florida SouthWestern State College is ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Poll, leading a quartet of Region 8 schools who are ranked 15th or higher. Two Region 8 schools - No. 13 St. Johns River State College and No. 15 Gulf Coast State College - are ranked in the Division II poll while Pensacola State College received votes.
