TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 29, 2022) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Player of the Week Awards in Men's and Women's Basketball.

Region 8 Player of the Week Awards (for events November 21-27)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:

• Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Jyre McCloud, Indian River State
• Region 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Malea Brown, Santa Fe

All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Sports Updates

• Women's Basketball: December means it's Shootout Time in Region 8! The Florida College's Women's Shootout will take place Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3, with games hosted by Daytona State College and Santa Fe College.
• The 2022-23 All-America page is live and includes student-athletes who earned All-America honors for cross country and half marathon. Other fall sports will begin to announce All-America selections today and continuing through Thursday.
